Hagar (biblical person) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Hagar
Hagar ( ; , of uncertain origin〔Strong's Concordance.〕 (アラビア語:هاجر) Hājar; (ラテン語:Agar)) is a biblical person in the Book of Genesis Chapter 16. She was an Egyptian handmaid of Sarai (Sarah), who gave her to Abram (Abraham) "to wife" to bear a child. (The prefix "to", as in "took to wife", may indicate that the wife is a concubine or inferior wife.〔(Women, similar to wives ) from vadimcherny.org〕) The product of the union was Abram's firstborn, Ishmael, the progenitor of the Ishmaelites. The name ''Hagar'' originates from the Book of Genesis, and is only alluded to in the Qur'an. She is considered Abram's second wife in the Islamic faith and acknowledged in all Abrahamic faiths. In mainstream Christianity, she is considered a concubine to Abram.〔 ==Hagar in Genesis== ''This is a summary of the account of Hagar from ''
